The Gorrions And Portulacas Poem by Richmon Rey Jundis

The Gorrions And Portulacas

I was looking
At the different hues
Of Portulaca flowers
Blooming and stretching out
From my lover's heart
At five in the morning
When the Sun was still stretching its' rays
On my lover's face,
Lying half-awake on the bed.

The Gorrion birds of feelings
That are caged in my heart
Were demanding freedom,
For they wanted to hover above
The mesmerizing Portulaca flowers.

But, I was afraid
To let them escape from my heart
And let them fly over,
And probably destroy,
The irreplaceable beauty
Of my lover's Portulacas
That are only meant to be gazed at
And should not be messed
Because of its' fragileness.
