The Great Dance Of Souls Poem by Grant House

The Great Dance Of Souls

Rating: 1.5

Vast seas of souls dance
Through life and death
And life again
Aspiring to the heavens
Expansive skies of souls
Weather systems of souls
Spinning hurricanes of souls
Lovely cloudless spring skies of souls
Wide rivers of souls
Rivulets, creeks, streams, tributaries
Gathering cumulus clouds rising
Sweeping downpours across wide prairies of souls
Over mountain ranges
Across the poles
Souls are dancing
Always dancing
To music
To rhythms
Only souls can hear
Timeless souls travelling
Meeting others along the way
Associating, connecting, joining forces
Slipping into and out of one another's awareness
Arriving and leaving
Always dancing
Reuniting after millennia apart
Kindred spirits
Dancing close
Drifting away
Immersed in the illusion of time
Souls find one another and lose touch
Flowing, whirling
The sentient and the unaware
The awakened and the unconscious
Those coming into and out of enlightenment
Partnering and separating
Galaxies of souls
A cosmos of souls

How do we explain our coupling
Our friendships
Our lives together
This sense we knew one another before
The deja vu
The delight in reconnecting
The sense of loss as we part
That unspeakable spectrum
Of joy and emptiness
Of hope and aspiration and accomplishment and belonging
Of despair and regret and uselessness and separation
The hope after hope that once parted
We might see each other again
In the great dance of souls

What forces attract us to one another
What pull us away

Could it be
That all this dancing
Is who we are
The great dance itself
All this music
The warmth and light
The expansive vistas
The uplifting energy of it all

Might we discover
As in a dream
That the atmosphere of love in which all this soul dancing is happening
Is who we are

Might all this connecting and parting
Be as much an illusion as time
That our seemingly separate stories
Are altogether one
Always connected
Always here
An infinite now

Dear friend
Where did you go
Oh how I miss you

I love you
Always have
Always will

I know in my heart
We are one
But I miss you still
