The Greatest Word Poem by Bernard Onoja

The Greatest Word

Rating: 2.7

When two elephants fight, many watch terrified, wondering the end result
yet it is the grass that suffers.

But for the magic word, the fight will go on forever. Should that be the case? While precious time is lost.

Unsure of the testimony afterwards,
on their heels many cower, as they feel the pains of those fighting, could have been resolved with the greatest word.

Sorry is the word, without which the world will be divided into a zillion pieces. an essential balm to the bitter mind.
