The Green Love Poem by P.R. Harikumar

The Green Love

Rating: 3.8

As usual-
In the evening-
I sat beside my friend –
The light blue river.
All the time-
It pats my feet-
With its chilly hands.

Then–
The River hummed a song for me-
A song of love-
An elongated love.
All the time-
I am looking at the river
The leaves and logs
Flowing in the water.

Suddenly-
The river became red.
I am afraid of –
What is happening …
“Don’t be afraid, my boy-
The hill is crying…”
-The river said.
“Why? ”
-I became anxious.
“I left my beloved hill,
For the sake of village men-
That is why
Here your men
Live in the green.”

Now-
I feel
The greenery around me-
Like a graveyard of
A departed love-
An unusual love.
