The Grief Poem by Sheryl Barison

The Grief

It was then yesterday,
I was on the same way.
In pain as you see.
Broken, teary...

I'm about to give up.
Coz there's nothing I see that's right.
Everything was painful
That gives me fright to wake up.

But then you came along,
Given me much reason to live on.
You promised me the love that sees no end,
Love I swear to keep as I live.

I was so unto my feeling.
Believing that you won't be leavin'
Promise you give could not be fading.
Until I woke up today surprised, aching.

You were about to leave.
Turn back to all the promises we made.
Without saying why we got to break.
Considering my pain was not in need.

It's hard for me to move on.
because today feels much as yesterday.
Broken piece of me
Shuttered, can't find a way.
