The Guilty Jury Poem by Bakare Oluwagbenga Michael

The Guilty Jury

Crimes committed in broad daylight. The scene is clear enough to show the grief of the victims. All guilty parties captured and locked, yet enjoy every goodies meant for free innocent citizens.
-
There goes their cases to the Jury. They are doomed and should be feeling remorseful now. Ofcourse, they're not. They're actually smiling and walking majestically in the courtroom, teasing their accusers. The Jury sits for the hearing to proceed. Every party groans, fumbles and screams to state their points. Now the hearing is over. Time for the Jury to give a verdict.
-
What is taking so long? These crooks have been found too guilty. Why are they still standing and smiling? Even the Jury shows more remorse than them. Tis' cos the Jury is caught in a guilty corner. Guilt only known to them and the offenders.
-
The Jury is too guilty to give a verdict. The offenders are too guilty to be set free. The accusers are too scared to cast the first stone.
-
