The Halcyon Days Poem by indira babbellapati

The Halcyon Days

Peacock feathers
placed between covers
fed on pencil dust;
every morning checked
in child's eagerness
for the babies the feather
would have brought forth...
Innocent hopes that get
extended to manifest in
every possible way...

An apt title for such wistfulness and innocence!
