The Hat Poem by richard ilnicki

The Hat

There she is again,
only this time
she is in the land of shopping,
a familiar geography
that suits partcularly well,
her female chromosome: 50% off!

She has a fashionable hat on.
It suits her quite well.
Her funny hair
so splendid beneath the brim
is hidden
partially from my prejudicial view.
I watch her like a model
on a runway to the stars
and wonder
who but Mary
can make a hat look so beautiful?
