The Human Worth... - Poem by RIC S. BASTASA

But what's the value of you?

in the future how much
are you worth?

yes, this human body
this human capital

i have become another
set of integers

but what is really my net worth?

it depends on
how much you still love me
i am
and will always be
at your mercy
for without your love
i am useless
without your care
and affection
i will but be another
hopeless case

i am but a feather
blown by air
landing on the
sands of my
empty shore
without you....
