The Indifferent World Poem by Tahmin Alam Tahmin

The Indifferent World

Death approaches me like a gentleman,
Taps twice on my frail left shoulder,
Opens the door of the 'Vehicle of Eternity',
And then drives me towards the road of 'Paradise'.

The chair at the balcony where I was sitting longs for my return,
The downpour that started while I was there continues,
The clock just like any other days chimes at 12 AM,
The world — indifferent, and nonchalant,
Only let out a yawn, as if nothing ever occurred.
