It feels as solid as the ground
beneath your feet
but it's fleeting as the north wind
slipping thru your hair and fingers
It lifts you up, to the highest of peaks
or crushes you
destroys you
from toes to the tips of your hair.
It is all you are
and all that you will never be
it is mingled with you
intertwined in your life's blood
yet leave it can
without reason, thought or purpose.
It's felt everywhere and nowhere,
feel it in the dirt of the earth
in the swaying trees,
among the fishes that swim the deep deep sea
it soars together with eagles and vultures
across blue blue skies, caressing lighting and clouds.
God's secret weapon
Satan's favorite toy
Man's greatest fear and joy
Mortality.
