The Journey Poem by Collette Y Anderson Williams

The Journey

As I gazed into my life,
mulling over its many journeys,
I have laughed
And oh!I have cried!
But then I find an Inner Strength
which bids me to smile.

Surrounded by many a kinsmen
and confidants alike -
and yet alone,
when the seemingly never-ending,
dreadful moments come with a blast!

Questions they ask,
as though unaware -
the obvious they ignore,
as if to say,
‘I don't care.'
But yet again
I'm rescued by
that Inner Strength
which bids me to smile,
then simply whispers in my ear,
‘You'll last! '

So, on this journey
my heart will hold
‘cause there exists a Love
that will not cause me to fold!
And this very Love
will make me bold!
