The Journey Poem by Othandwayo Victor Mphathi

The Journey

Rating: 5.0

Behind every journey there's nothing to say, but a story to tell.
A story that my mind would return to again and again.
As i couldn't ignore the call of darkness like turtle without shell.
My life was a living hell.

I couldn't forbid the devil taking control of my body.
As he whispered in my ears day and night.
I would walk into the mirror and the only-thing i would see was a scarecrow.
A reflection at my inner-self.

Time to time my mind would be deceived by devil illusion.
illusion that ripped off my soul.
illusion that ripped off my soul.
illusion that ripped off my soul.
I always wished i could have self-destruct because i no longer had faith.
Its been over casted by dark cloud, a dark solid clouds.
A moment of silence with just the sound at a beating heart.

The war began as the time comes, but not for me to my self destruct.
Yes to uproot the evilness and avenge my soul.
But i had to conquer one thing which is fear.
I kneeled as i looked up to the sky with no hope for victory over my weaknesses.

Wise words from no one crossed my mind.

Life is limited and valuable breed yourself with the lord.
That was the beginning of a new life, a life that my mind will return to again and again.
