The Journey Poem by paddy jansen

The Journey

he turned around so he could hide his tears
and decides not to tell her he dreamt about it for years

he tells her she should leave and go to her promised land
deep down all he wants is to feel the warm touch of her hand
sadness filled his heart while she turned to walk away
all because he didn't tell her what he really wanted to say

he believes no man deserves to be at her side
not even himself even if she is, his love, his light
because of this they would end up thousands miles apart
while away from her he felt a pain growing in his heart

without thinking he left his world behind him
to travel across many lands filled with corruption and sin
he learned many things about the demons in the land
his journey would lead him to the cursed wasteland

there are horrors in the wasteland that will come to light
those horrors would come to him when the day turned into night
night falls upon the land and from the darkness a demon appears
she sings an enchanting song only to be heard by his ears

could this be the demon the tales talked about
yes he's sure it was her without any doubt
the demon that denied the love from a king
and waited for the prey that would hear her sing

with this song she would lead him to her home
when he arrived he realised they were not alone
she granted him a place to stay but he was not aloud to go away
not untill she had asked all of her questions day after day

this will be the last question i have for you
just make sure the answer you give me is true
open your eyes and tell me what you see
answer this for me and i will set you free

before he answered he noticed the scar on her hand
that would remind him of things that happend in his homeland
before i answer you tell me, how did you get that scar and don't lie
the demon didn't answer but instead started to cry

her hand would touch his face while she looked deeply in his eyes
it became clear the tales he heard had been nothing but lies
for she was not the demon that fell from the sky above
she was the one he was looking for his one true love

It is a nice tale, enjoyed reading this, but is a bit jumpy and would love to read the full version of it! Overall I loved the story and would make great for a more detailed longer story or something! :)
