The Joy Of The Holiday Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Joy Of The Holiday

Yesterday I felt for the first time
The joy of the holiday
Grandchildren were the source of my happiness
Before that
It didn't really mean that much
Thank G-d for the grandchildren
How meaningless the holiday of an old man would be
Without them.
