The Kikuyu Tribe Of Kenya Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

The Kikuyu Tribe Of Kenya

The Kikuyus,
Who are the Kikuyus,
How their language,
The natives
The Bantu-speaking people,
Who inhabited,
Mount Kenya and the Highlands
As agriculturists and farmland men
With a strong belief
Rooted in Ngai
Living in his mountain abode
As faith sustained,
To know them is to know many a thing,
All about their thatched and mud-built small houses,
Clothing and folk traditions
Just like the photographs
Of Andaman-Nicobar islands,
The northeast people of India,
The Scs and the STs of ours,
An Africa how to explore and know it?
I see the Kols, the Bhils and the Gonds,
The Adivasis and the Paharias
To compare it.
