The Kindness Of The Night Poem by Gillian Commerford

The Kindness Of The Night

I rely on the kindness of the night
more than strangers
it strokes me
with its black velvet paws
and I am grateful
and nuzzle into it
and feed from its darkness
which nourishes me
more than the light.
