The Kingfisher Poem by Clive Culverhouse

The Kingfisher

Rating: 5.0

metallic skimming
through rippling playground's advent
dive, this bullet, dive
why electric matadors
capture a camera's edge

poised for trigger start
heralds this branch-born sentry
time waits besides me
taking flight, sweet javelin
panning, frames reel off in hope

flash of nature's peak
a bird of agile measure
trueness in a lens
whose splash, a dart through droplets
- our lake, the earth redeeming
