The Kingly Wedding Poem by Anand Rai

The Kingly Wedding

Rating: 5.0

Feel a cold breeze blowing short notes on a guitar
And listen to the melody that we strain to hear
A folklore that tells and speaks of a wonderful king
Like whom none has ever seen nor had there ever been

An exquisite phrase that the king said
To a lifeless and to him life was well paid
For the king’s words awakened joy bounded in him
And felt the warmth rush through his stream

A worthy king as such needed a companion to suit
But none of the wise men had any idea of anyone so good
Then a fairy tale princess popped out of the white page
And she frees the kingly heart out of its cage

A fair countenance she had but yet fairer be her heart inside
For evil residence never, in her, had their pride
A definite combination of extreme beauty and delightful wisdom in twin
With a lighted candle of extreme leadership from the queen

A joyous moment that has been awaited for so long
To shoot up the sky with stars and world with songs
Too long have our people been for a blissful moment waiting
Let us live it all out in our beautiful royal wedding
