The Kiss Poem by I M Swan

The Kiss

Rating: 5.0

I live in the darkness of the unforgiven
Where love always seems forbidden
Loneliness and frustration taunt me
The ghosts of love past haunt me

The ashes of yesterday lay at my feet
Mixed with the dust of lies and deceit
I stand alone against the cruelty of time
Forever forgotten, is love such a crime

There's no escape from what I desire
My soul is empty, my heart is on fire
My emotions rage from passion and pain
Nowhere to hide and nothing to gain

'Take a chance on love', my heart screams
'Complete my life, fulfill my dreams'
'Don't be a fool', whispers my mind
'Remember that ties do not always bind'

'Find someone to love me', my body cries
I look to the future with tears in my eyes
A roll of the dice, a draw of the card
Shaking with anticipation I stand guard

Breathless, I except the kiss of fate
For black is not white, and love is not hate
I'll take the chance, my heart I am giving
For without love, I'm not really living
