The Knock Upon The Door Poem by Robert Longley

The Knock Upon The Door

I’ve sent my messengers before me
To tell you that I’m gone
You’ll know them by their uniforms
They’re there to keep you strong

Do not fear the words they say
Or the message that they bring
It’s all part of the mission
Though not an easy thing

So welcome them as you would me
For brothers are we all
Together we do stand as one
As we each do hear the call

There are no easy answers
For what lies next in store
Just know I’m always with you
When you hear the knock upon the door
