The land was parched, leafless, birdless;
Scorched were the plants and trees;
The people prayed for rain from skies;
The clouds opened with torrential ice.
The ice and snow have melted fast;
And drought, a thing now of the past;
The shrubs and trees are green again;
The valley has blossomed by rain.
What hues of flowers now adorn!
New birds and insects too are born;
The land is vibrant and alive;
The people toil like a bee-hive!
How God transforms a ‘life-less' land!
What magic comes from Nature's wand!
But man must pray and thank the Lord;
So, shun the sword, and live by Word.
God gives the rain and sun to all;
But man just builds a rift and wall;
The earth is made for love, not wars;
Let peace prevail on earth, not Mars!
Why waste your priceless time and wealth;
Attend to body/ mind/soul's health;
No human weapons usher peace;
Let love abound and hatred cease.

Ice and snow have melted fast and this melting is motivated by sun. Wonderful perception and imagery makes this poem very beautiful.10
