The Last Day Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

The Last Day

Rating: 0.5

In a land far from here
where spirits roam freely
and the trees are green
on ochre fields of grain
I sometimes dream
of companions
who rode with me
in the campaigns
so long ago

We ventured forth
to right wrongs
and to fight until
we won the battle
