The Last Night In Tupelo Poem by Victoria Gauci

The Last Night In Tupelo

In this lonely place I find myself,
Crying like a child,
Wondering which word it was,
That sent you off to wild,

How can I know exactly where,
The wounds of your heart are hidden?
How do I help you release the pain,
So that you can go on livin'?

I feel that God has brought us here,
To ease eachothers' pasts,
To build a stronger relationship,
One that will blossom and last.

A pain-filled heart will harden,
And close itself to love,
We can't go through this life we live,
With constant push and shove,

I sit here now and wonder,
How do I help to ease,
All this tragic emotion
That causes your heart to bleed?

I know I can't repair a heart,
Which is drowning deep in pain,
It is a journey you must travel,
To find your strength again.

I'm right here and if you need,
A hand to help you up,
With open heart and loving touch,
I'm here, no matter what.
