The Last Note Poem by DANIEL ESSIEN

The Last Note

You stunned me by those words
No expression or emotion in me is left
Cos'it pierced me like two edges swords
I feel rejected like a theft.

I've believed you all the while
When things are good or bad
I force myself to smile
Even when I should be sad.

When it rained my heart you sheltered
When your joy weaned on my shoulder you lained
But same you, my heart you shattered
As it ends thus
One day you shall remember us
