THE LAST POEM WAS WRITTEN
The last poem was written
Far away from myself
From another world
I did not even know I was in-
It had the signature of someone else
And its strange lines reminded me only
Of who I had been once-
The last poem was written by someone else
And like so much else
Was reread and corrected by me
As if it were the work of a blessed stranger
I did not know the name of-
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
