The Last Walk Poem by Wangchat konyak

The Last Walk

It was a spring eve,
And the sky was clear;
I was with a maiden
My soul secretly delights upon.
I remember, she asked me
If I would accompany her up hill —
To behold the view from a vintage point.
I can never forget
How quick my heart trembled,
My face blushed, and my feet shivered.
"Verily I will", I replied with a smile —
A smile from the depth of my joyous soul.
She and I then strolled up hill.
I recall, it was the most enchanting eve
She held my arm, soft and smooth
And there, she and I exchanged words.
I remember, as I trod, in my heart,
I wished if this could be for eternity.
Upon reaching the vintage point,
I played the role of a guide,
Pointing each hills as far as
Our eyes could see,
And naming each hills.
To tell the truth, I have wished
Time to linger long.
Alas, night began to fall,
So we descended the hill
And parted ways;
It was our first and last walked.
Thereafter, she became a poetry.
