The Light Poem by Keegan Cooke

The Light

Rating: 5.0

It's amazing seeing the light
Shining in the black night
When you think your alone

And you wish you could go home
You think your worthless
So you clench your fists

Grit your teeth and bite the stick
Grind your way through hell and pain
And come out on the other side of heaven

Out of the water and into the fresh air
Give into the desire, but only if you dare
Because your gambling with your heart

A fragile and precious thing
A unique and priceless work of art
Thoughts of happiness and joy fill your mind

Like the intricate design of the river of time
Always wanting that one unreachable thing to call mine

There is a lot of symbolism and emotion in this poem. I also like the rhymning. Very good work.
