The Light Of The World Went Out Poem by Royston Allen

The Light Of The World Went Out

The dastardly deed was done,
we had crucified God’s Son
This wonderful man, Jesus,
stretched out His arms for us.
“Forgive them, Father, ” He said
and for us His blood was shed.
“It is finished.” He cried
as He Bowed His head and died,
and the price for sin was paid
by the sacrifice He made
Then the Light of the World went out
and the darkness could be felt...

…….. but it did not end there ….

Breathing His last earthly breath
He entered the realms of death.
Then taking Satan’s army on
a mighty victory was won
as from the grave He arose
with power over His foes.
He now stands a glorious sight.
