The Lilies Back Home Poem by Raymond Farrell

The Lilies Back Home

Today
As I sit
Under the locust tree
Here in a city
Of teeming millions
I yearn
For the peace
Of the lilies
In the meadow
Back home
Their fragile
Tranquil beauty
Surpasses
All manmade structures
I have seen in Hangzhou
However old and majestic
They may be.
