The Lines Of Poetry Poem by Ekwueme Kelechi

The Lines Of Poetry

When I'm no more
Do not war the day with words
Do not let the cry of the naked night roll
Bury me in the lines of poetry

When my nose is forever starved of its meal
And my veins refuse her children to play
When my face entirely rust away
Just bury me in the lines of poetry

When you can't beer
When you can't bear
When on you fear yearns to tear
Search for me in the buried lines of poetry

When the stab of life is hard
When the cut it gives is deep
When its hold on you is rough
Find me in those buried lines of poetry

Find me and I will come to you
With life
I will appear to you
As Angel Gabriel did to Mary

I will stand by you
And soothe your pains
I will be a pearl
That will peel those peals

I will take you to the peak
To pick your clique
I will fasten you to myself
And won't let go of you

If only you will find me
In the buried lines of poetry
