The Little Difference Poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

The Little Difference

Rating: 5.0

Little difference

Communism was a Russian spy
smothered by the soft pillow of democracy.

A system that gives us voting rights
than blithely ignore our choices.

Not so hasty democracy sell toys and
multi-coloured training bikes.

Democracy gives us trivialities and porno.
Communism had vodka bought in any kiosk.

They both sell us dreams, and we buy into it
especially at Christmas.

Democracy gives penury and heaven as a roof
Communism gave us Gulag and brawny intellectuals.

Aloha Oskar... Cheers and a Happy New Year! How simple truths can be to humans as a rolled up sunday paper is to a bad dog! Hard to imagine any reader not understanding the link between politics and christmas as it is today! A real nice treat to finish my session on... All of the best from this life, to you, and all of your relations... Michaelw1two
