The Lonely Monkey Puzzle Tree Receives Word Of Sightings Of Friends Poem by Sheena Blackhall

The Lonely Monkey Puzzle Tree Receives Word Of Sightings Of Friends

Seen:
In the second garden on the left on the way to the Bracklinn Falls.
A pot in a minister's back garden, terribly restricted and sad.
A wee plantation of trees in a local arboretum, like a gathering of the WRI
One given away as a competition prize to a writer on Arran.
A 25 year old blocking a twitcher's view, sends its undiluted love
A 40 foot tall speciman 6 blocks from a local Asda, with dry rot
There's probably one in the garden of the former director of Kew
(It's the sort of thing he'd have grown)

Just down the road on the way into Falkirk, but secretive.
A bit of a loner
A baby one in a traffic warden's lawn.
The Botanic gardens at Dawyck in the Borders,
a clan all planted on a slope.

In the grounds of Myres Castle in Fife, a puzzler sends greetings
An unconfirmed sighting inPollokshields.

Strathcarron Hospital keeps a pet one to please the patients.

On the road into Alloa. When interviewed it gave no comment
By a house at the end of Quarry Brae, before the canal bridge
A Monkey Puzzleleft in the will from one sister to another
Across the harbour in Lews Castle grounds, Stornoway. A Gaelic speaker

In the middle of a farmer's field next to a holiday cottage. Enjoys rural living
In Benyon Court, the size of a cedar It worries aboutstorms.
A coven of Monkey Puzzlers in a huddle on Hergest Ridge.
In Falkland, a small one in someone's front garden. It has low self esteem

One was removed against its will. Last seen in the vicinity of a sawmill
