The Long And Winding Road Poem by Jon M. Nelson

The Long And Winding Road

As you gently hold my hand
You set my mind at ease.
As you softly kiss my lips,
It sends a tremble to my knees.

As I look into your eyes,
I see the kindness in your heart.
Love is a long and winding road,
And this is where it starts.

We've all been down this road before,
But it never ends the same.
For some it's less, for some it's more,
For some it's just a game.

They say that love's a two-way street,
It takes both to make it last.
We must focus on the future,
And forget about the past.

Sometimes the road is paved with gold,
Sometimes it's paved with stone.
If we go down this road together,
Then we won't be alone.

We'll have our ups, and our downs
It will be a bumpy ride.
Place your hand in mine,
And we'll walk it side by side.
