The Long Wait Poem by Sergio D'Amico

The Long Wait

Rating: 4.3

I wait for time to pass
watching sand in the hour glass,
expecting to find you here,
time spent will never return.

A place where history rhymes
everything comes in it's own time,
lost inside grains of sand,
lost outside, like light under the sun.

There was something between us,
always something in between us,
your shadow knows no bounds,
when will I ever feel the sun?

Memories that never sleep,
Summer months that never weep
If there is life after this wait,
by the sea, I'll be there.

A lovely poem. My favourite line is If there is life after this wait, by the sea, I'll be there.
