The Longest Week Ever Poem by Trysta Due

The Longest Week Ever

Rating: 3.3

Hanging with my friends
On the way back to their house,
The good times never end
Until those that are close get hurt.

Breaks slamming
The cars skidding,
My hearts racing
Now there's people yelling.

One car wrapped round a pole
A cable falling on the people infront,
Those who are hurt payed the tole
As the rest of us watch at a distance.

Later that week
I get an unexpected call,
From my brother who seeks
My mother and I.

We're told my grandma has cancer
That it started in her kidney,
It moved to her liver and then to her lungs
Making it's way to her brain.

She losther appetite
And got a little shaky,
I cried myself to sleep that night
Knowing that she didn't have much longer.

And now all I need is you
Making me smile the way you always do.
