The Longing Poem by Daniel Erdner

The Longing

THE LONGING

Lonely at heart missing my love
Bodily I ache for your touch
To my core, missing you so much
A perfect match for who I am
No chance to be together, tragedy
Can I change my life
Can I really be what you need
Absence makes a heart grow fonder
Absence can also tear it out
Tears of joy and pain intermingled
I've never felt so good and bad at the same time
One lover cries while the other protects their heart
Roller coaster emotions
Hurricane force pain but just a moment
Here's giddy relief to know you're ok
To know you at all is more than worth
The moments that missing you bring on
