The Loss Poem by Peter Hoskins

The Loss

It's 12 months almost to the day
Since you broke my heart and walked away
And tho time has passed in a blink of an eye
I still think about and miss you daily and cry
You have left a man finding this so hard to take
Who's heart every day continues to break
The heart is one of the hardest things to heal
Probably because it is connected to how we feel
When someone you love happily walks away
It breaks so hard it leaves you in disarray
It breaks over and over every minute every day
The pain never stops it never dies away
I sit here looking at my Facebook feed
Hoping she realises how much it's her I need
Only to see that she's with some other guy
And touting her love for him not being shy
So again I feel my heart break and tears
I wanted to be with her for the rest of my years
Now I find myself writing poems to put feelings out there
And to help someone else if this feeling they share
I know deep inside I will never recover
From losing my friend, my life, my lover
