As the sky darkens,
Light still tries to find a way to illuminate God's creation
It continues to shine until it has nowhere else to travel
Our body is a vessel
And the mind is its abyss
Emotions can become lost,
Just as light can fail to find a path
The abyss swallows Joy, Love, and even Pain in times when light can't be found
As light struggles to creep through the inevitable darkness that lurks
It is then that the eyes can no longer see
And fingers can no longer feel
The body keeps progressing through its daily routines
But nothing is sensed as the mind dismisses it
The soul aimlessly navigates its way through conceived time
Until it accepts emotion can't be found and its light can't reach
It is then that the body withers and the abyss reaps
