The Love Song Of Differences Poem by Brooke Nofer

The Love Song Of Differences

You
So stong and capable of anything
Me
So helpless and wounded
You found me in my hurt
And in my loneliness
We walk side by side
Hand in hand
Wishing there could be a happy ending
Praying you would come around again

With the people wispering our names
In confusion

You and I
Time is never on our side
You leave me with the hand of the clock
Every day you leave me
I wish you would stay
I wish you would not leave me yet again.
I say to you 'why'
But you say 'no'

Why can't we be like we used to be
Happy and having fun.

Me
So strong and capable of anything
You
So helpless and hurt
Why the switch
The tables turned
I leave you and you ask 'why'
But I say 'no'
