When we give more love than we receive
We feel cheated, somehow, by them, and lose our identity
It’s like investing much but the profit is nil
Until we get tired of loving, being vulnerable and open.
When we give less love than we receive
The guilt is there, ever present, that you’re taking them for granted
That you’re squeezing too much from them,
much more than you yourself can offer
Until you feel nauseated, imprisoned,
and suffocated by their tender loving care.
We deserve as much love as we give
So that balance we can attain
It’s bad to give more than you can get
It’s worse to expect more than you can give.
