The Magic Shirt Poem by Rahman Henry

The Magic Shirt

Everyone sees a different color

Wearing it, I can control
My persecution to speak
And can hide
My expression of emotion,
Or to put it another way,
Emotions, obviously, are quite different
As per environment: weeping into laughter
And laughter continues in the form of tears.
In addition, there is a button, whenever you press that,
You can make yourself invisible... and just by opening,
You would be visible again. How strange!

This magical shirt
Was woven by my mother, in her childhood,
At the age of fifteen. At that time
She Thought: after being a mom,
One day, she would give it to one of her children;
But forgot finally.

Fifteen years after her death, again she came back
To give it to me! And just before leave me,
She said, '2022 will change the world, indeed'.
