The Magician Poem by Marc Goddard

The Magician

I've been down in the dumps, I've been lower than low,
I've been crushed, suffocated, with no room to grow.

Forgetting how love felt, but still hanging on
To every last morsal of romance gone wrong.

Mistake after error, error after mistake,
And each time, a small portion of my heart would break.

I was running out of trust and felt nothing but strife,
Awaiting the next guy to ruin my life.

When, accidentally, I stumbled, I came upon you,
At first glance, I thought, It's too good to be true.

From that moment on, everything changed,
My perception, my knowledge, both rearranged.

Nothing makes sense now, my world, upsidedown.
There now lies a smile where once lay a frown.

When i look in the mirror, I see what you've done,
You make me feel lighter, and happy and fun.

Your eyes see right through me, no secrets I hide,
I feel almost invincible with you at my side.

Your hands touch my spirit, your arms hold my soul,
The impossible became possible when my heart became whole.

When I close my eyes you are all that I see,
Because you are the one who gave magic to me...
