The Main Event Poem by Brijaal Dana

The Main Event

It was intense, something like I've never experienced before,
Much greater than warmth, thought I'd die without it,
It would ultimately consume me, it's all I want; I was sure,
My heart took over and my mind was clouded,
Not just a fill of void, but a strong desire,
To embrace my soul mate, or so I thought,
It was like a little boy trying to lick fire,
With me, every step, she surely fought,
Can't go on, not any longer,
A torment I can live without,
I just need to be stronger,
Can't fight another bout!
