The Makers Of My Being Poem by Michael Denis

The Makers Of My Being

Eternal praise I give
To the architect and builder
All of my being
The hope of years to come

When I think of motherhood
The source of life not the author
A path not with fatherhood can compare
God bless my mum and motherhood

The warmth of my siblings inexpressible
From them comes encouragement and hope
If the world fails and neglects me
Their support and love is assured

Oh! Unfathomable mystery of friendship
Where each go unpossessed
Yet with hearts that never deceive
With affection so tender but never obsessed

So soon my dad went so
A life that taught me to glow with courage
In death a novel perspective I owned
Eternal rest and glory awaits this soul
