The Many Colors Of Love Poem by Melissia Ann Senter

The Many Colors Of Love

Red is for the color of a beautiful red rose,
Given to you by that special someone.

Yellow is the color of the sunshine
you used to bring into my life.

Blue is because you have eyes
as blue as the ocean.

White is for the stars
I used to see each time you kissed me.

Purple is for the pen with which I write
of the many colors of love.

Orange is for the fire
you used to ignite in my heart.

Green is for the pain I feel
in my heart now.

Yellow-green is for the hurt
I feel because you have betrayed me.

Gray is for the many gray skies
that are ahead of me.

Black is the color of my love
for you now.

Blue is for my heart that was
broken into a million pieces.

Red is for the rage I feel inside
for you have been with another.

Brown is for I will go to my grave
hating what you and her have done to me.

The many colors of love aren't always beautiful.
Sometimes they are very ugly.

My heart knows the beautiful side of love,
then the ugly side of love.

No the many colors of love
are not always beautiful.
