The Mask Of Dreamers Poem by Julianna McLeod (LaPlante)

The Mask Of Dreamers

I see a light in the distance.
Shimmering, glimmering, its rays reaching out,
Almost as if calling for me.

It is something I have never had before.
It is like a hug I have never felt,
Or the love I have never received.

I need it.
I want it.
So I take it.

The light surrounds me like a cloak of security.
And whispers, 'Don't worry, Don't fear,
I love you and I will always be near'.

Three months later, I see what light really is,
It is just a mask in the world of 'what if? '.
