The Megaton Poem by Tengoku Tenshi

The Megaton

First comes the flash
Silence
Then the screams of horror
Molted metal and a stench of sadness
The flames of despair burns away the remains
The air has become infected with the plague
Half the state away people don’t realize
The cries of children and the tears of mothers
While there lives have been taken away
The memories still remain

A teacher presses play
While the students are stun and amazed
A little girl cries with a tear in her eye
As the photos of truth come forth onto the screen
The students leave the class realizing the past
Understanding the danger that awaits and the lies that are told
A little boy looks up in the sky with his little eye
And smiles and says “its time”
