The Men We Call Husbands Poem by Abdul Basit Ismail

The Men We Call Husbands

The men we call husbands
The men we call husbands  are our moonlight when night falls
Heat up the cold wind with their lovely warmth
Make our night as peaceful yet still memorable
Sleeping in their tight but comforting arms
Just like a new born baby in her mother's care
They're the men who implant in our dreams
With their charms and pearls and gems of their smirks and smiles and romantic laughs
As though our world is a gigantic palace filled with diamonds and golds   they make us imagine
They plunge into our heart not to kill but to find a home to keep theirs.
Cos home is always a safer place no matter the conflict between it's inhabitants
The men we call husbands
They guard us with their blood and sweat not forgotten their strength and might
They never leave a piece of frown on our face  without replacing it with a bright smile
They love us like we are their world
Though,   they will fight heaven and earth to support us, to protect us and to show us how their love for us is deeply buried in their heart
And even with a knife, you can't cut it  out without taking their heart alongside
The men we call husbands
Are our armour during the day
Guarding us against the sun's heat
Inspiring us to achieve all dreams and objectives
Giving us back the long lost hope from our past
Mistakes
And present us with a gift of the present and the future
They're are our shoulder to lean on
They're our road to drive to the destination of those fantasies and imagination in our minds
They're our bolstering bolt and our tightening knot
They complete our anatomy
They are our backbone and without them,   we have no bones to make us whole
They're the gift which is precious than Gold
These are the men we call husbands.
