The Metaphor And The Cat Poem by Roger Snow

The Metaphor And The Cat

Rating: 5.0

Old House Falling down
from age
down the drive
another construct
bent back to the rage

Up the road
some well
where wishes once made

down the Sun goes
and in this Solitude
of Mist and dew, ,

where wishes, , , once made

I make my stand
to wave sweetly goodbye
Goodbye to you, ,

and as I turn to walk away
shaking dust off the Sandals, , ,

I begin my journey into
the Morning light
of a brand new day
a brand new life
new life without you, ,

Where wishes, , , come true, ,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~)))))((((((((~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Second Verse ~~~

Dirt drive behind me now
out on the highway now
up ahead, , far as I can see
is my road of freedom
heading where I suppose
I need to be

some light through the leaves
dances across my path
as though lighting my way
to solace
from this aftermath, ,

where wishes come true
and tomorrow's promises
stain the Heart to cover
the holes left by you

and back behind, ,

sorry, can't say, ,
you see, ,
you're already gone
Gone, , , now, , from my mind

Out there on the Horizon
where the Sky reaches down
to kiss the Sea, ,
in that fine line, , between

I'll be happy finding
that peace you once drove
out of me, , ,

Old House, , Melts away
and in time
so too will fade

That old Well, , ,
where wishes were made, , ,

~~~~~~~ The Cat tossed, The Toy makes good his escape ~~~~~~~~~
